Student Services
We are the nearest surgery to the University of Chichester Bishop Otter Campus. Students and staff of the University can register with our practice providing they are resident on campus or living within our catchment area - please ask at the surgery if you are unsure.
The surgery is located approximately 15 minutes walk from the campus, please see map, and provides a range of services whilst open. There is full out-of-hours emergency GP medical service when the centre is closed
Registering at the Surgery
Please register at the surgery before you need to see a doctor or need repeat medication. It is also a good idea to have a new patient medical with our Health Care Assistant Jane so we can assess your general health.
You can register by:
- Coming into the surgery and completing a Family Doctor Registration (GMS1) Form and a Health Questionnaire
- Downloading these forms from our Further Reading section, completing and printing then and bringing them into surgery
Please note that we will need to see 2 forms of identification, one with a photograph, e.g. a passport or driving licence, and one with proof of address, e.g. your university card or the letter stating you have a university place.
Booking Appointments
Students can be seen by any GP or Nurse in any session at the surgery. You can book an appointment at the surgery by:
- Coming into the surgery in advance
- Telephone us on 01243 527264
- Book online via our on-line services . To book appointments via the internet you will need be registered with the surgery AND register for our On-line Services. Please see instructions on the On-line services page.
Specialist Student Services
We have been looking after students at the Bishop Otter campus for many years and our clinicians have a wealth of expertise in student issues.
Dr Bryony Whittaker has been the main student GP for at least 15 years. She is happy to deal with any general student health problems, and works on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Dr Justyn Jackson has additional qualifications in musculoskeletal medicine and can provide treatment and advice for sports / dance related injuries. He has appointments both morning and afternoon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and mornings only on Tuesday.
Mrs Sue Chapman is our Nurse Prescriber and is interested in family planning / sexual health and minor illness. She runs a dedicated Student Clinic on Wednesday afternoons (in term time) between 4 and 6pm. She will be able to give advice and prescribe treatment for contraception, other sexual health issues, and a range of minor illnesses.
